Boys are told early on that they should eat properly in order to grow up big and strong; girls, on the other hand, are less likely to hear this saying.  

SHE is much more likely to opt for fruit, vegetables and something sweet, while HE prefers meat, sausage and occasionally an after-work beer. 

73% of men eat fruit or vegetables every day, but 65% eat meat and sausage every day. However, almost 93% of women eat fruit and vegetables every day. Only 35% of women eat meat or sausage every day. 

Men tend to eat more for pleasure, whereas women eat in a more controlled manner and tend to be slightly healthier than men. So the saying “men eat steak and women nibble salad” is not just a common prejudice, but a fact.
